The Hollywood Bowl

One of my favorite things to do in Los Angeles is go to concerts with my husband at the Hollywood Bowl. We have gone to see Dave Matthews, James Taylor & Carol King, John Mayer to name a few! The Hollywood Bowl is just walking distance from our apartment so it's always fun to walk over to catch a concert on a cool LA night for a date!
John Mayer
Going out to another show at the Bowl!
Dave Matthews
I always love to see DMB, but I think I have to say my favorite show this year was to see Jack Johnson! Maybe because he is one of my favorite artists, but he was just so good live! I sang along to every single song! (sorry Bryan!)  Here is one of my favorite songs, please try not to listen to the tone deaf lady singing and cheering along while filming this song! ha! Just wanted to share one of my favorite past times to do with my husband out here in LA LA land! Rock on!

The Hollywood Bowl is a famous outdoor amphitheatre located in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles. The Hollywood Bowl is well known for its band shell, a distinctive set of concentric arches that graced the site from 1929 through 2003, before being replaced with a somewhat larger one in 2004. The shell is set against the backdrop of the Hollywood Hills and the famous Hollywood Sign to the Northeast.

Laguna Beach

Last weekend Bryan and I left the hustle and bustle of LA for a weekend road trip to Laguna Beach! (It's about an hour or so from Hollywood) We stayed at a charming hotel right on the beach where we could sit out on the balcony and enjoy the ocean, go for long walks on the beach and of course watch the sunset together. We had a lovely time!

Hiking

My dad loves to hike and has invited me, Bryan, my sister and her husband to Switzerland for a week of family hiking in the Suisse Alps! So to get ready for our BIG hike in September, Bryan and I have been warming up doing some hiking around California! I feel like an official hiker now that I have all new "real" gear (if I look the part, I can play the part!)

Happy Trails! (No pun intended!)

Terranea Resort

For the fourth of July, Bryan surprised me by taking me on a trip for the 3 day holiday weekend to a beautiful oceanfront hideaway in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, the Terranea Resort
It was the most romantic resort located on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. It was the perfect place for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We enjoyed hiking around the beautiful property, spent time relaxing by the pool lounging in chairs that faced a clear wall for a perfect view of the ocean, ate scrumptious seafood, listened to live music and watched fireworks from our balcony.
Bryan loves his sunsets, and I don't mind them too much myself!
our 4th of July dinner!
It was such a fun and special way to spend our first Fourth of July as Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Mason!
